I am aware the following sounds obvious but it is often one of the biggest missteps.
Maybe you’re the executive director, or a board member, or staff, or a donor. No matter what your role within the nonprofit sector there will always be one constant. Connecting with people matters. People know if you are genuinely interested in them or if you are merely transactional.
Transactional will get you engagement once, maybe twice. It provides a disposable vibe, not a sustainable one. Connecting, being relational, will get you exactly that, connection/relationship. So it’s pretty clear what path you need to travel if you are seeking to build people, donors, engagement, etc.
